Letters manuscripts and personal effects relating to James Joyce go on display in Dublin before London auction.
The items on show were formerly the property of James Joyce's brother Stanislaus. The collection has an early copy of 'Ulysses', valued at around €150,000 and three letters from Joyce to his wife Nora, which have never been published. Also included are proof sheets for the 1910 edition of 'Dubliners'.
The papers are on show at Brown's Hotel in St. Stephen's Green before being auctioned in London next month.
A love letter signed a hundred thousand kisses, Jim.
According to Peter Selley of Sotheby's Auctioneers,
This collection really is unique and the like of it hasn't been seen for many many decades.
