Photographs taken on a Nokia mobile phone go on show in a Dublin city centre gallery.

The images were taken by amateur photographer Don Mullan as he travelled around the world and are to be displayed at Gallery One.

It's hard to believe that these moments of magic were captured on a mobile.

Don Mullan first realised that a mobile phone could take pictures when his children showed him. Over two years travelling to various parts of the world he recorded his journey as a visual diary.

There are some famous faces among the photographs including Pelé and The Dalai Lama.

Aoife Byrne from Nokia Ireland says that the exhibition is a testament to the quality of cameras now available on mobile phones.

The power of the camera phone is the ability to be spontaneous, to capture moments in life that you wouldn't with a big heavy professional camera.

Don Mullan hopes that what people will see from his exhibition that the mobile phone is really capable of capturing great beauty.
