Field Day Theatre are in Derry to rehearse the company's latest production a South African play.

Every September, Derry Guildhall becomes the home of the Derry based Field Day Theatre Company. Up to now, all productions have been written or adapted by Brian Fried. This year, the company looked outside Ireland and are producing play about racial discrimination under the Apartheid regime in South Africa.

'Boesman and Lena' was written by South African playwright Athol Fugard and directed by Claire Davidson.
The Company Manager is Julie Barton, the Set and Costume Designer Margo Harkin, and the Stage Manager is Bo Barton. 

The production stars actors Stephen Rea and Des McAleer.  

The Field Day directors believe passionately in bringing their work to provincial audiences.

Field Day is taking the production on the road to Irish provincial towns.
