A number of events contribute to the Dublin Millennium celebrations across the Easter holidays.
Dublin continues to mark being a thousand year old city with a number of special events taking place during the Easter period. Music, boating and chess are just some of the activities on offer.
Events will include the first Dublin Festival of Medieval Music. The Early Music Society were promoting the event on a horse-drawn float in St Stephen's Green.
The recorders and lutes of the Early Medieval Society will perform in the Great Hall in the Royal Hospital at Kilmainham.
Dublin's river banks were also buzzing with activity as Trinity College Dublin (TCD) took on University College Dublin (UCD) in a 40th annual boat race on the Liffey battling for the Gannon Cup. The event is held during the Easter holidays every year and saw TCD win for the 21st time.
From muscle to mind-power, over two hundred competitors, with just four women, battle for the title of Irish Open Chess Champion.
