Rousing returns in Galway and Offaly for GAA All Ireland Club Champions Corofin and Birr .

In Galway bonfires blazed as Corofin the All Ireland Club Football Champions came home to a tumultuous reception. Corofin had beaten Dungiven in the final 0-11 to 0-9. Player Ray Silke, 

There is guys playing after twenty one years they are a credit to their parish they are a credit to their parents they are a credit to the whole community.

In Offaly there were celebrations as Birr brought home a second All Ireland Club Hurling title having beaten Sarsfields 1-13 to 0-9. The players shared their victory with the schools of the town and one praised them in song by. Players Joe Erritty and Brian Whelahan told RTÉ News what the victory meant for Birr and for hurling in Offaly.
