For over one hundred years Listowel has been hosting a horse racing meeting.
Visitors to the Listowel Races have plenty to keep them entertained with live music and a fun fair. Traditionally people have come to the races as a celebration after the harvest and the last outing before the winter. For others, the races were a stopping off point on the way home from the Lisdoonvarna Festival.
Despite the recession and tough times for farmers, the bookmakers are kept busy with races goers hoping for some good luck.
