City dwellers are making a mass exodus out of town for the bank holiday weekend, but on the whole, traffic is moving well.
Destinations like Brittas Bay in County Wicklow make the journey worthwhile, as our coastline is clean and uncluttered when compared to beaches abroad.
While Mother's picking the sand out of the sandwiches the kids can enjoy themselves in the sand and the water.
Not everyone is heading to the beach however, as there are plenty of events taking place in Dublin City. The Folk Dance and Song Society are hosting their annual fundraising Feis in the Mansion House and the Model Railway Society of Ireland have precision-made model trains on display at O'Connell Christian Brothers School hall.
As an added touch of realism all the trains are running ten minutes late.
