The traffic and transport problems facing Dublin.

Dublin Corporation's traffic control centre is where the city's roads are monitored.

TD Mary Harney says,

Dublin is a very congested city. 80,000 cars a day travel into the city and the reason so many people travel by car is that we have an appalling public transport system.

Seamus Brennan also features speaks about public transport problems, and traffic congestion in Dundrum. 

This episode of 'Wednesday Report' examines the draft development plans from Dublin Corporation on plans to build new roads and examines possible alternative solutions to the traffic problems in the city. The report also looks to cities like Manchester and Birmingham to see how they are approaching similar challenges.
