The group are seeking,
To ensure that there is adequate and proper celebration of 1916 and that the spirit that motivated the men and women of that time is marked by people throughout the country.
A series of events has been organised for every county by the committee culminating on 6 April with an open-air concert, a céilí mór and a series of theatrical pageants evoking scenes from 1916.
Artist and committee member Robert Ballagh describes the current debate over the 75th anniversary as a battle of words - a celebration, a commemoration or an observation. He also feels that the ideals of the men and women of 1916 are totally relevant to the Ireland of today.
