Head To Toe visits the first ever knitting fair at the RDS in Dublin.

Jennifer Keegan reports from the first ever knitting and stitching show at Dublin's RDS where she meets knitting enthusiasts who have travelled from around Ireland to visit the expo.

Many of us think of knitting as something dull and boring that only other people's grandmothers do. But ask a real lover of the woolly stuff and you'll see their eyes light up with rare enthusiasm.

One of the exhibitors Sasha Kagan says

Knitting is full of colour, excitement, design, texture. I find a very, very exciting medium to work in.

Sasha also tells Jennifer about the therapeutic qualities of knitting, how to find the best patterns, and how to get started in knitting.

This episode of Head to Toe was broadcast on 5 December 1995.
