Trying out for a new show where the prize for successful contestants is a change in a life time record deal and exposure on prime time television.

The auditions for a new pop band are held at the Point Depot in Dublin.

Songsters, warblers, crooners, and downright chancers.

The London Weekend Television (LWT) production is called 'Wanted Pop Stars' and the chief judge is Nigel Lythgoe, who went on to produce Pop Idol and American Idol. 

They have to find their own image to portray and we're getting a lot of people copying.

The chosen few will go on to the next round of auditions in Birmingham.
