Troops from the Irish Defence Forces undergo warfare training at the Curragh in County Kildare.

The objective of the exercise is to check the proficiency of troops on the ground. Codenamed 'Operation Acorn' the event was observed by senior officers. During the manoeuvres Scorpion Tanks were in use by the Irish Army and on public display for the first time.

Colonel Frank Kelly, Director of Training talks about the importance and value of this exercise for the soldiers.
