Before and After: Dermot takes on a Fermoy mansion
Last night on Room to Improve, Dermot Bannon travelled to the outskirts of Fermoy in Cork to transform a 170-year-old mansion.
Susie and Dave bought their dream home nine years ago but the three-storey property was beginning to show signs of aging and the couple wanted to extend and upgrade to create the ultimate family home.
Presented with a generous budget, Ireland's favourite architect faced the challenge of adding a series of high end, modern extensions to the house without compromising the original character.

Dealing with a series of unfortunate events ranging from soft spots in the surrounding soil to the first consignment of windows becoming damaged in transit, Dermot struggled to create a dream home for the two.
