RTÉ Radio 1 is the flagship radio station from Ireland’s public service broadcaster. It has been broadcasting daily for over 80 years and remains the leader in Irish radio broadcasting. Its programmes focus on news, information, feature strands, debate and sports. Long-running popular shows include Morning Ireland, Today with Pat Kenny and Liveline.
RTÉ 2fm caters for a younger audience with dedicated music shows, hours of live music, competitions and chat shows. RTÉ 2fm broadcasts live each year from Ireland’s biggest music festivals, Oxegen and The Electric Picnic.
RTÉ lyric fm is a music and arts station, playing classical, jazz and opera as well music from the stage and screen, world and traditional music.
RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta provides a national Irish language radio service with current affairs, news, music, sports programming and chat shows.
Freesat requires the purchase of a set-top box, which costs from £50 upwards. Once households have a Freesat set top box no further payments are required to receive television and radio services.
In addition to Freesat, RTÉ Radio coverage of the All Ireland Hurling and Football finals will be available to UK listeners on LW 252, via Sky satellite television, and online at RTÉ.ie
