National Search to find Ireland’s Best Loved Dog & Cat
Pedigree and Whiskas – along with RTÉ and Ireland’s biggest welfare organisations – are inviting you to vote for Ireland’s Best Loved Dog and Cat in preparation for World Animal Week, 4th -10th October. We want to find the healthiest, happiest and most loved animals in Ireland!

Voting online begins Monday, 20th September
with the Winners unveiled on RTÉ 2fm during World Animal Week (4th – 10th October 2010).
In the spirit of World Animal Week, Pedigree and Whiskas are donating thousands of euro worth of food to SPCAs nationwide for dogs and cats in need.
In exchange for every online vote made by you, Pedigree and Whiskas will donate a meal to SPCAs and welfare organisations across Ireland! In addition to this, Pedigree and Whiskas will donate an extra meal to SPCAs and welfare organisations for every one of their meals bought in the run up to World Animal Week.
Five ways to show your pet you care
- Make sure your pet has a good and healthy diet suitable for its age and breed
- Make sure it has a comfortable, secure and safe environment in which to live and sleep
- Exercise its body and mind with walks, games, training and an interesting environment suitable for its age and species.
- Ensure your pet has plenty of contact with you and other family members: groom regularly and enjoy its company
- Remember to keep a watchful eye on its health and regularly treat for worms and other parasites and to visit the vet for its vaccinations and health check.
