Jennifer Banks
Jennifer Banks

Jennifer Banks suffered from low self esteem as a result of bullying and bulimia. This is the story of how she found the courage to escape a violent marriage in a foreign country.

Bullied as a child about her weight, Jennifer Banks became bulimic and battled constantly with low self esteem. In a bid to escape her unhappy past she ran away to London and married a Turkish man. He was violent and sadistic, denying her food, making love conditional on her becoming thin.

Desperate to please, Jennifer allowed him to fuel her eating disorder. She moved with him to Istanbul and found herself trapped in a violent marriage in a foreign country. Beatings, starvation and rape were her daily routine.

Finally, Jennifer found the courage to escape and with remarkable fortitude she rebuilt her life and fought her way back to happiness.
