In the second programme of the series we visit Poland. This instalment is a story about Mayrbek Umalatow and Halina Szahidewicz. It is a story on the one hand about a man, who is a Chechnya refugee trying to start a new life in Poland, and on the other hand about a woman who is head of the Muslim Community in Bialystok, where Poles tries to continue the Tatar - Muslim traditions. West of Mecca shows Polish Muslims who are the minority in a very catholic country and Muslim immigrants who are trying to find a new life there.
