Cynthia Ní Mhurchú
Cynthia Ní Mhurchú is a qualified barrister who has been practising for six years now. She is a native of Carlow.

Before becoming a barrister she spent a year teaching in an Irish language school, Gaelscoil Eoghain Uí Thuairisc, in Carlow and then spent 10 years working as a journalist and presenter in RTÉ, Raidió na Gaeltachta and on a freelance basis. She co-presented the Eurovision Song Contest with Gerry Ryan when Ireland hosted the competition in 1994. She contributed a regular column to the webzine Cumasc for several years and has also written extensively on education, training and careers.

She is married and has two children, and now lives in her native Carlow.


Tá Cynthia Ní Mhurchú cáilithe mar abhcóide agus tá sí i mbun na hoibre sin anois le sé bliana anuas. Is as Ceatharlach ó dhúchas í.

Sula ndeachaigh sí leis an ngairm áirithe sin, chaith sí bliain ag múineadh i scoil lán-Ghaelach, Gaelscoil Eoghain Uí Thuairisc, i gCeatharlach agus timpeall deich mbliana ag obair mar iriseoir agus mar láithreoir le RTÉ agus le Raidió na Gaeltachta agus ar bhonn neamhspleách chomh maith. Rinne sí féin agus Gerry Ryan Comórtas Ceoil na hEoraifíse a chur i láthair sa bhliain 1994 nuair a craoladh as Baile Átha Cliath é. Scríobh sí colún rialta don iris idirlín Cumasc ar feadh roinnt blianta agus tá go leor altanna scríofa aici chomh maith faoin oideachas, cúrsaí oiliúna agus slite beatha.

Tá sí pósta agus tá beirt chlainne aici. Tá cónaí uirthi ina ceantar dúchais, Ceatharlach, faoi láthair.
