Since he last appeared on Tubridy Tonight the golden boy of gardening has become a dad, moved home to live and work in Ireland, and his TV programme 'I Want a Garden' was one of the big hits of the summer.
Diarmuid is loving fatherhood in his forties and described his two year old daughter Epy as a "bundle of fun". Epy even has a rose named after her. Diarmuid has no illusions about being the rock star of the gardening world and instead prefers to describe himself as "the Daniel O'Donnell of gardening". He also admitted to being "a bit of a brat" and explained where his reputation of being difficult came from. He has been known to enter the odd garden uninvited! Diarmuid recalled "breaking" into the Blue Peter garden at the BBC after a New Year's Eve party and "rearranging" it in the company of British rock legends Primal Scream . being totally unaware who they were at the time!!
"I want a Garden" a DVD by Diarmuid Gavin is out now

Very few people can boast about having a tribute sang to them by one of the most popular rock bands in the world as well as getting the world exclusive on all of their new releases. In his trademark coolness Dave Fanning told Ryan how he was "pleased" by the homage U2 paid to him at the 2004 Meteor Awards, recalled a naked radio studio interview, and how U2 manager Paul McGuinness says "it is the good luck charm" that fuels Fanning's first radio play of any U2 singles.
Dave also chatted about interviewing some of the most famous film stars in Hollywood, and said "to be honest, the bigger the star, the better they are. They have a lot more to say, they know the game, they know the business and they are much more relaxed". He cited Cameron Diaz and Scarlet Johansson as some the coolest people he has ever interviewed, and talked about Keanu Reeves "picking a fight on him".
When it comes to music, Dave's top mark goes to American act Smog, and Simple Kid, a Cork born artist who Dave said is "like an Irish Beck . but better".
Dave Fanning's Fab 50 Volume 2 is out now
Hailing from Cobh in county Cork Maeve Higgins is well-known as one of the comedy team behind the 'Naked Camera' TV show, where her characters include a Rose of Tralee reject, and a bride-to-be desperate for a groom.
Maeve told Ryan hilarious tales of comparing herself to Beyonce, explained the reasons why Irish girls are so fair skinned, and her secret love for Eddie Hobbs.
Maeve also chatted about her fondness for the 1950s, and joked "I always liked the idea of ladies in the kitchen back in the 1950s . where all you had to do is bake and pretend to be happy!"
Maeve recalled one of her fist times on stage, when she was in school. She told Ryan her part was an iceberg in a stage adaptation of The Titanic, and joked that she spent months practising "a vindictive iceberg face. but never got to use it in the end. I just had a white sheet over my head on stage!"
Maeve Higgins' new show is all about Christmas, and it opens at the Andrew's Lane Theatre in Dublin next month (18th to 23rd of December) The proceeds of the show will go to Unicef. Maeve will also be in The Wexford Arts Centre on December 3
