AIDAN POWER has more than a decade of experience in youth programming, light entertainment and sports television. He began his career on RTÉ television while still at school, reporting on the daytime show 12-2-1.
He was talent-spotted after Freedom FM, the pirate radio station he ran with his friends, gained local notoriety and a devoted following.
Between 1997 and 2002, Aidan hosted RTE shows including Open House, Den 2 Weekend and The Den. In 2003, he moved to London to join Nickelodeon UK as anchor presenter on their daily show NickL8R. He returned to Dublin in 2005 to write and present The Café and host TTV.
Since his return, Aidan has also presented the RTE talent show Class Act and the flagship of RTE's Telethon 2007, Celebrity's Go Wild. He's also presented for No Frontiers and The St. Patrick's Day Festival, reported from The Irish Golf Open and The Heineken Cup for RTE Sport.
Still keeping up his work in the UK, Aidan joined BBC2's Sportsround team in 2007, anchoring the show and reporting live from the Rugby World Cup. He has since returned to Sportsround, currently hosting the show each Saturday up until June 08.
Highlights of his career so far have been meeting two of his sporting heroes, George Best and Roy Keane, and throwing custard pies at The Cheeky Girls. He's a big fan of Manchester United and Frank Sinatra and loves watching boxing.
Not a lot of people know this: Aidan spells Nadia backwards.
