2006: Programme 1
Topic 1: A chance to see some more football
Paul Cassin It seems there is no escape from Football at the moment! As World Cup Fever hits our screen we are constantly reminded that Ireland did not qualify for the World Cup. However, one Irish team have qualified for the European Football Championships to be held in Dublin in July.
If you are wondering how you missed this soccer team's achievements tune into Three 60 to follow this team. Apart from the sporting highs and lows, this team also share their personal thoughts and aspirations about competitive sport. This means that even those tired of World Cup madness will find a fun and easy going story, which captures the wider themes of sport, which everyone can relate to.
Topic 2: The Jack and Jill Foundation
Mary-Ann and Jonathan Irwin
This story will focus on Bernadette and Edward who want to care for their young disabled daughter Eva-Rose at home and will outline the financial and resource implications of their decision. Without the support of the Jack and Jill Foundation, this family would not be able to remain together.
This is a hard hitting and thought provoking piece which pays tribute to the Irwin family who set up the Jack and Jill Foundation after the death of their son "Jack".
