Starring Kevin Bacon, 'The Woodsman' is the debut film from director Nicole Kassell. It centres on Walter who is released after 12 years in prison. He gets a job in a lumber yard and moves into a small apartment across the street from an elementary school. So far it's the classic con back on the streets story - but then you realise what he was in prison for: Walter is a paedophile. Based on a play by Steven Fechter who co-wrote the screenplay with Kassell, the film also stars Bacon's real-life wife Kyra Sedgwick as forklift driver Vickie and Mos Def as parole officer Detective Lucas. 'The Woodsman' opens nationwide on 25 February.
