Film: Thriller and Lasso
Salla Tykkä is from Finland and she operates in that constantly growing territory where film and fine art overlap. There is a professional angle to the work, often dealing with sexuality and power and often featuring herself on screen. Now two of her short films 'Thriller' and 'Lasso' are to be shown in Dublin's Meeting House Square.

Book: Lady Gregory's Toothbrush
"It is the old battle between those who use a toothbrush and those who don't." So wrote Lady Augusta Gregory to William Butler Yeats back in 1909. She was referring to the riots two years earlier that greeted Synge's 'Playboy of the Western World' and, although she didn't know it at the time, she was also providing the title for Colm Toibín's biographical essay 'Lady Gregory's Toothbrush'.
