Clodagh McKenna trained at Ballymaloe Cookery School and went on to work as a chef there. After an inspiring visit to the Midleton Market, Clodagh decided to leave the kitchen and start up her own stall, which eventually led to her involvement in setting up farmers markets around the country.
She writes for several publications and is a regular contributor to many shows including Saturday Cooks, Saturday Kitchen, and UKTV's Market Kitchen, to name just a few. Her first book The Irish Farmers Market Cookbook was published in 2006 and a TV series called Fresh from the Farmers Markets aired on RTÉ. Her book Fresh From the Sea was also published to coincide with her RTÉ series. Clodagh's most recent publication is Homemade, which offers homemade recipes for every occasion.
In 2010 Clodagh opened a cookery school and the Canal Café at the Village at Lyons, in Co. Kildare, and in 2011 she launched Homemade by Clodagh Food Court & Food Market at Arnotts department store in Dublin city centre.
Clodagh was delighted to return to The Restaurant critics table for the four star cook-off, and brings with her a vast knowledge of Irish produce and passion for seasonality.
