" My worst was the cream of fennel soup. It's the kind of dish I'd expect see on a pub menu, but didn't work in this context. The vanilla terrine was really perfect, light, summery dish."

" The spinach which came with the turbot was spectacularly good, and I really like the green beans served with the lamb. The sweetmeat tart didn't thrill me as much as the other dishes tonight."

Keith Floyd:

" I thought the scallop mousseline with that clever ginger sauce was exquisite. However, if you're going to cook turbot, for goodness sake don't cover it in greaseproof paper. I just don't like that!"
