Tom Doorley:

"Jon's highs were very high and his lows were very low. By far the best dish was the hake. It was a fantastic piece of fish. But the Caesar salad was a horror. A sad looking collection of salad leaves and other bits and bobs."

Paolo Tullio:

"I liked the ice cream best, particularly the little almond biscuit that accompanied it. The duck livers were tough, though, as I like them to be melt-in-the-mouth."

Eamonn O'Catháin:

"I have to agree with Tom. I felt the Caesar salad was both woe-begone and flaccid. But the hake was undoubtedly a revelation. Beautifully cooked with spinach that was worthy of Nicos in Dame street."
