Gino d'Acampo, Guest Critic
Gino D’Acampo is an Italian chef who works in the UK. He was born in Napoli where he lived with his parents and sister.
Gino caught the cooking bug from his grandfather who worked on cruise liners, and he entered the Luigi de Medici Catering College at the age of 15, where each summer he was sent to different kitchens across Europe to gain experience.
Gino first appeared on UKTV Food's Great Food Live, which led to guest slots on BBC Two's Saturday Kitchen. He is now a regular guest on ‘Ready Steady Cook’, ‘Step Up to the Plate’ among others.
Gino’s first cookery book was ‘Fantastico’ was published in 2007. And won Gourmet Italian Book of the Year and his latest book ‘Buonissimo’ was published in October 2008
Gino is now the owner of a leading supplier of Italian ingredients to the UK food industry and manufactures his own pasta sauces and olive oils.
