How the Critics Voted
Which starter won over the critics - Des's Chicken Salad or Dermot's Scallops?
Tom Doorley - Dermot's Scallops
Warm chicken salad is not the sort of thing I would immediately order myself. But having said that I thought that the dressing was very delicate, but I have to say, for me, the pan seared scallops won by a bit of a margin.
Trish Deseine - Des's Chicken Salad
I thought the scallops and the black pudding was a little bit seen before, something really you would expect and the chilli oil really just killed it for me unfortunately. I loved the salad. I think its a great way to start a meal apart from anything else and I thought the combination of the cheese and the crunchy nuts and that sweet dressing was just great. So that was my favourite.
Paolo Tullio - Dermot's Scallops
Breast of chicken is probably my least favourite protein of all kind. That's why I chose the scallops.

Which main course did the critics vote for- Des's Lamb en Croute or Dermot's Loin of Venison?
Tom Doorley - Des's Lamb en Croute
This was really difficult for me because I felt the seared loin of venison was a fabulously conceived dish. It worked brilliantly, it was executed superbly. But on the other hand, I actually ate more of the lamb en croute. It got my vote because it just pressed the right buttons for me.
Trish Deseine - Dermot's Loin of Venison
Both meats were beautifully cooked, extremely well executed. But I thought really, the technical prowess of the venison won out.
Paolo Tullio - Dermot's Loin of Venison
This really was the hardest, because they were two very well done dishes. But in the end I have to say I ate more of the loin of venison. I liked it, I thought it was very well done, I loved the little beetroot crisps, I thought they were just terrific. I liked the parsnip puree. So my vote goes for the venison.

Which dessert did the critics prefer - Des's White Chocolate Mousse or Dermot's Lemon Curd Tartlet?
Tom Doorley - Dermot's Lemon Tartlet
On the desserts I don't think there was any competition really. The lemon curd tartlet with the raspberries. Every single detail of that worked superbly.
Trish Deseine - Dermot's Lemon Tartlet
Well the white chocolate mousse was beautifully comforting and creamy and sweet. But really there wasn't a competition between that and the lemon curd tartlet which was so light and that lemon was so tart and the little bit of chocolate on top was perfect. It was delicious.
Paolo Tullio - Des's Mousse
I disagree, I loved the white chocolate mousse
