In this programme we feature a really useful guide to borrowing money, useful tips on working out percentages, and take a look at how energy costs are affected by world events and how we can use the internet to find out more.
The episode also includes a studio interview with Sharon Donnery from the Financial Regulator, and Jim Foley a student from WordAid in Kilkenny.

Sharon talks about what the Financial Regulator actually is, what they do, and offers advice on the best way to use the service. She talks about things to watch out for when dealing with financial matters like buying insurance, borrowing money and setting up banks accounts. She also discusses how the internet is a great tool for shopping around but warns that customers should always check the security of websites and should be careful when asked for their personal details.

Jim talks about what he uses his bank account for, as well as his own his own experiences of financial matters including applying for loans and purchasing insurance policies. Jim also talks about his reasons for returning to the adult education system when his wife became ill.
