Episode 17

In this weeks episode:

In this programme we have a really useful guide to finding a new job, provide tips on filling out a job application form, and take a look at how the media covers elections.

The episode also includes a studio interview with Geraldine King, Dublin Recruitment Manager with Grafton Recruitment, and Mary Lanigan, a student from Kilkenny who recently went back to the WordAid Centre to improve her reading and writing.

Geraldine talks about what happens when someone goes into a recruitment agency in search of a new job as well as the options and help that the agency can provide. She explains that as well as sourcing out jobs, recruitment advisors can also help suggest courses that would provide the required qualifications and experience for a certain line of work. She also talks about how best to fill in any time gaps in the employment history section of your CV.

Mary talks about making the decision to go back to the WordAid Centre, the difference it has made to her life, and how she has overcome her fears of things like filling out a form. She also talks about reading a book a few years ago that inspired a trip to Peru and walking the Inca trail. She's now planning on taking a trip to China.
