About The Show

The English Class is a brand new six-part comedy series set in a Dublin night school, as a class of immigrant students who have arrived in Dublin and are attempting to get to grips with the English language. Unfortunately for them, whilst their focus is on learning the language, Myles, their teacher, is more interested in filling the gaping holes in his empty life during class time.

Starring William Morgan as Myles Brennan, the teacher, the series also features an ensemble cast from Poland, Russia and China. Myles Brennan, like all great comic characters, is a tragic soul, and his part-time teaching job in a night school quite literally is his life. He is completely oblivious to his student's frustration towards his haphazard teaching style, as he is far too self-absorbed in the misery of his own life to even notice.

William Morgan has spent fifteen years working in independent theatre as an actor, director and producer. He has scripted and appeared in numerous short films and most recently appeared as Morgan Dalton in RTÉ's Fair City. Having created many comic characters for radio, under the alias "Billy Dufus", William was a Grand Finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards, and Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny?

The English Class was shot on location in Ballyfermot College of Further Education in Dublin in July and August 2007.
