I'm going to try and get my videos on my desktop to I can edit them. For some reason they aren't uploading to my computer. It says it won't work which sucks....

People also need to have an interesting personality and something to say. Who really wants to watch a video of someone just staring at a camera saying they're bored? I enjoy your videos because your interesting with some of the same personality traits that I carry. It's hilarious seeing some of my mannerisms in another person.
On another note, I love how there's so many different kinds of people making videos Normally they'd be the outcast where they live, maybe with two or three people who can relate to all that they love. Yet by the power of the internet, they can find thousands who enjoy the same things.

I actually really liked this video!
I mean, I guess I pretty much already knew most of the stuff
but like hearing it again makes me feel like, "okay Julie you should keep making youtube videos because you can mean something to somebody!"
like especially the whole watching somebody like a friend thing
because, though that's pretty much how I feel about the people I'm subscribed to
I didn't think about people who are subscribed to me feeling that way about me...

hey this helped loads :) I went to my first gathering in london recently and it was so huge! but I met some people I've always wanted to meet and they gave some shout outs and I got a good 50 few subscribers from that, which was nice.

Thanks for the tips. I think a lot of youtubers want success REALLY fast and that's just something that isn't going to happen. It takes time to build subscribers. I'm learning that too. I've been on youtube for over three years, but only recently started posting vides.
Sometimes it just frustrating when it takes weeks for a video to get 100 views, but I'm optimistic it won't always be that way.

Thanks for all the great advice i have been making videos on youtube for just over a year now and i have made alot of new friends and its actually opened a few doors for me career wise.
Basically i talk movies, i have a show called FilmXTRA and i make a weekly show discussing the latest movie news and also i review a movie each week. Lately my subscriber rate has increased and i think that was all thanks to going to gatherings so i defo agree with you when you say networking is crucial because it soo is.
Anyway check out my channel and let me know if you like what i do.

some very good tips there :D i think the one i will use most will be the gatherings one. i'm desperate to go to a gathering anyway, i was RAGING i couldn't get to summer in the city! i found out about them all too late :(

yup, that's the brilliant thing about internet two point oh. the communities mostly, stretching over not only youtube but other sites like deviant art, twitter, even msn. it's extremely hard to find people like yourself in RL but on the internet, it's open to the whole world and you get to meet that 1% of the population you can actually connect with. networking. great stuff :D

I think you gave good advise however if you don't have the money, that makes it a bit harder to go places. I personally don't really care if I have any subscribers, I just want friends through out Europe, N.Z., Australia & Canada. So I can get a First hand look at life outside of...the city I'm in. =+)

I'm not looking to really get "famous" on youtube, I just like meeting new people. But if a lot of people view your videos, the more people you'll meet so I guess it works out. And it is true about the viewer-poster relationship. You do feel like you know them and you are friends. Can be a bit creepy in some cases I suppose depending on who the viewer is but that's just part of life. But Stephen, try to come to a gathering in the USA (Southwestern.) People here have nothing better to do than youtube so it's a goldmine.

I Would like to know how to promote my videos if you are under 16. For example i am 13 and i am not allowed to go to gatherings or set up gatherings. I also have only got about a hundred veiws on my videos so i don't have much chance of getting lots more veiws. Also ive started to think my videos aren't funny once i publish them.

that was a good video. good ideas. but we hav some trouble
ok our channel is llamasinbananas(dont ask) lol and were kinda crazy but we hav good ideas. for example weve got the lyrics 2 6 song spoofs, and the script to a twilight spoof that weve shown to people and theyve laughed their head off.
the problem is 2 of us are 12 and the others 13. as you can see, we have trouble flying around the world to go to london, ireland, wateva, seeing as we are only in yr 8 and none of us are little rich kids with hefty amounts in off shore bank accounts. do u no any gatherings in sydney, NSW?? also we dont really have anywhere to film and no good cameras. so yeah. we have only 3 subscribers(2 of which we know and asked to sub us), and only 2 of our vids have ova 100 views. the vids we have now i must admit arent vgood, but i can assure u that even when we do get around to making the good vids(so u no, were making one of our song spoofs on the 22nd, hint hint. TUNE IN!!! ) we will not get noticed. ok so PLLEEEAAASSSEEE watch our channel!!!! and comment, rate, subscribe. but like, ignore our first ones and even our current ones, jus look for song spoofs, and yeah.
i will tell you a bit about our channel.
ok so we hav an obsession with llamas, and bananas. so we combined it to make a name. mmmmhmm. so we make kinda random videos, and we dont have a genre coz we jus do everything. but were not the kinda people who jus talk about stuff or u no, like ures. (ure vids r awesome by the way)
so ye. u probs wont see this and ive wasted 15 minutes writing it, or ull see it and wont bother reading it coz its too long, and this has all been for nothing. oh well :(
