If watching Sheana catching her first fish inspired you to take up fishing, or to get back into it, Fisheries Awareness Week takes place from Saturday 22 May to Sunday 30 May.
A range of events is scheduled in all regions around the country, all aimed at getting the public, young and old, interested in angling and fisheries conservation. For information go to www.faw.ie. One of the biggest events is organised by the Dublin Angling Initiative and will take place at Howth Sea Angling Club, West Pier, Howth on Sunday 23 May where the focus will be on children and fishing, although there will be events for all the family, including cookery demonstrations. For details call the Eastern Regional Fisheries Board on 01 278 7022.
An article about Sheana's day will appear in the July issue of Irish Angler, Ireland's No 1 angling magazine. Look our for Sheana on the cover in your newsagents! Check out the web site www.irishangler.ie or Facebook www.facebook.com/pages/Irish-Angler/261499110826 .
