FAME: The Musical
Monday, 10 May 2010
FAME; The Musical just lost its third contestant through the public vote. Leaving just 9 finalists to battle it out for the coveted prize of a lead role in FAME; The Musical. The latest contestant to leave the show is Stuart Pollock who is on the show today with presenter Derek Mooney to talk about the whole experience!
Stuart is 20 years old and from Rathgar in Dublin. He is in his second year studying mechanical engineering at UCD. He has performed in amateur musical theatre productions since the age of 16 and attended stage school since he was 14. This is not the first time Stuart has auditioned for a television programme. He auditioned for the All Ireland Talent Show last year, but had his chances scuppered when the strings on his guitar broke during his performance.
Stuart had received positive reviews for his performance of Take That's 'Shine' with all three judges. Sarah had performed 'Chasing Cars' by Snow Patrol with the judges paying tribute to how well she recovered following a shaky start.
Stuart and Sarah then sang a duet from 'Fame: The Musical', but only one of them could be saved by the judges. Erica Gimpel chose to save Sarah with Robert C Kelly choosing Stuart leaving Simon Delany with the casting vote.
Afterwards Stuart said "I did myself justice tonight. I loved every minute and wish all the guys the best of luck." He also paid special tribute to his Mum
