Jan De Vries, Herbalist

PMS Symptoms:-

This is coming more to the fore mainly because of hormonal imbalances. This is due to our way of living and especially for younger girls, there can be problems at work.

This can be helped by taking for instance Agnus Castus, or Evening Primrose, and Essential

Fatty Acids:- It is also good to have some acupuncture:

1. Period Pain:

What to take and how it works?

The period pains can be helped with Agnus castus, and if these are very bad then it might be worth considering having Laser Acupuncture which can be very helpful.

2. Irritability/Mood Swings:

What to take and how it works?

For the irritability and Mood Swings I would suggest one of my flower essences, Mood Essence, and perhaps taking the herbal preparation Ginsavena.

3. What can help bloating/water retention before our periods,
Solidago Complex in a cup of Golden Grass tea will be of benefit for water retention before periods.

The Jekyll and Hyde Syndrome of the Menopause can lead to a lot of problems. I have a lot of experience with this.

Indeed I have treated women prisoners, who because they were going through the Menopause, and had "Jekyll and Hyde Syndrome" have sometimes committed murder, because they did not know what they were doing, and with Menopause one has to take steps to help this.

For instance taking Female Essence along with Agnus Castus, Essential Fatty Acids. Acupuncture and Cranial Osteopathy and also give additional help.

Is there a herbal replacement for HRT?

A natural alternative for HRT is Phytogen. HRT is not always the answer and can have serious side effects.

Some symptoms:-

1. Hot Flushes:-

What to take?

One can control Hot Flushes with Salvia,( Menosan,)

2. Sleeping problems and Night Sweats:-

What to take?

For the night sweats and sleeping problems I would suggest Salvia, Night Essence and Dormeosan.

5. Fatigue:-

What to take?

For fatigue Eleutherococcus (Siberian Ginseng) and Vitality Essence.

Endometriosis - Symptoms?

Pain is one of the most common symptoms of endometriosis. Usually the pain is in the abdomen, lower back, and pelvis. The amount of pain a woman feels does not depend on how much endometriosis she has.

Some women have no pain, even though their disease affects large areas. Other women with endometriosis have severe pain even though they have only a few small growths.

Symptoms of Endometriosis Include:

. Very painful menstrual cramps
. Pain with periods that gets worse over time
. Chronic pain in the lower back and pelvis
. Pain during or after sex
. Intestinal pain
. Painful bowel movements or painful urination during menstrual periods
. Heavy and/or long menstrual periods
. Spotting or bleeding between periods
. Infertility (not being able to get pregnant)
. Fatigue

Herbal Remedies and How do they Work?

Agnus Castus and Flax Seed Oil can be of help. If infertility is a problem there are preparations to help with this. Hormonal Balancing by the use of homeopathic treatment.
