In studio today we have Richie Baneham who was animation supervisor on the highest-grossing film of all-time, Avatar. Richie won a Bafta at the weekend for Best Special Visual Effects for his work on the movie Avatar. He and the team responsible are hot favourites to win the same category at the Oscars on 7th March!
Richard Baneham attended Ballyfermot Senior Art College in 1994 before leaving Ireland with his girlfriend Aisling half way through his final year in college and heading for LA. He then went on to work on projects like The Iron Giant (as an animator), The Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings (both as Animation Supervisor) and many more. He has been working on Avatar for the last 4 and a half years! He lives with his wife Aisling and their three boys, Luke (6),Daniel (4) and Nathan (2).
