Mother's Day Makeover

Friday, 20 March 2009

What better way to say Happy Mothers Day than with a makeover from the country's top styling experts?

This week, in the run up to Mother's Day on Sunday March 22nd, we're treating some very deserving Mums to a special treat-a makeover by Ireland's top hair and beauty experts. Today is our final makeover and it's one with a twist!

Mother's Day is coming up this Sunday and this is our way of saying "Thank You" to all those lovely mums out there who make our lives so much easier.

Today we are doing a three generations makeover with:-

Eileen Power and her mum-in-law Noreen Power
Eileen is mum to seven month old Julia, and they live in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. She works as a buyer for a pharmaceutical company in Waterford city and is due to go back from maternity leave in May.

Eileen put herself forward for the makeover having been on TAS website looking for one of Kevin Dundon's recipes. She then proposed her mum in law, Noreen, join her for the makeover- Noreen lives in Wexford and Eileen doesn't get to see her very often (once a month) so she decided it would be a nice way for them to spend time together.
Noreen and Eileen get on great although Eileen suspects that after nominating Noreen for a makeover, they may not speak anymore!

Eileen has been wearing the same hairstyle for years and is very much a jeans & loose tops kind of person. Ideally she would love to wear more shapely clothes as she hates shopping for herself and can never find anything to fit properly. She describes her current look as "boring", very casual and practical. She can't wait to get a new hairdo and feel like a new woman returning to work.
Noreen is a school teacher in Wexford- she describes her style as classic. She has no problem spending money on clothes that will last a long time and are of good quality but she would very much like to update her look.

Hello all on the Afternoon Show,

My name is Julia Power and I'm 7 months old.

I think my mammy really deserves a makeover before she goes back to work from her maternity leave. She has been working really hard minding me since I arrived on July 26th last year!

Please help!

From Julia..or a very cheeky mammy called Eileen!
