"This season there is a fragility to the futuristic look, with an emphasis on iridescent silks and sheer organzas. It is this feminine slant to the trend that feels so fresh"

Find out what's new in hair, make-up & style this Spring Summer with Expert advice from The Afternoon Show Style team.
You might be forgiven for thinking you'd stepped forward in time with one of this seaons most talked about looks- here to tell us how to carry off this catwalk trend on a high street budget is style guru, Liam Power.
Sharp angles, textured fabrics, whites greys and silvers all make up this sensational Spring Summer trend- we look at what's hot for Spring Summer 09 with "Future Perfect"
Everything you need to know about hair, make-up and style for Spring Summer 2009, coming up.
Space age shapes and textures, combined with the pale colour palette create this striking look that can be watered down for day to day wear. Whilst high end designers feature structured dresses, exquisite tailoring and particularly unusual fabrics, this tends not to be the case on the high street. Structure & fabrics can be expensive so in order to achieve this look with high street prices, we must water it down a little. (unless of course, you're particularly handy with a needle & thread yourself!)
Designers who featured this look in their Spring Summer collections include:-
Gareth Pugh, Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Gianfranco Ferre and Narciso Rodriguez.
And, as the Autumn Winter shows begin around the globe it appears that this trend will carry through into another season;-
"The present looks bleak for the fashion industry, so designers at Fashion Week have a solution: the future.
Space-age materials and clothes with jutting hips and shoulders made a Jetsons-like splash on Saturday at New York Fashion Week."
