1. Rihanna was victim of alleged Chris Brown assault, says police report

According to reports, the singer suffered visible facial injuries and bite marks to her arms. Multiple sources have confirmed Rihanna as the victim of her boyfriend Chris Brown's alleged assault on Sunday night. Both singers cancelled their appearance at the Grammy awards, with reports surfacing that Brown had turned himself in to Los Angeles police. Us Magazine, the Los Angeles Times and TMZ have now confirmed that Rihanna was the unidentified woman, with her real name - Robyn Fenty - listed on the police report. According to the LAPD, Brown, 19, has been charged with "criminal threats" and was released on $50,000 bail. Additional charges may yet be filed.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Sunday morning, when police were called to a vehicle parked in the Los Angeles Hancock Park neighbourhood. Though Brown was not at the scene, the victim is believed to have visible facial injuries, including a bloody nose, as well as bite marks on her arms. She identified Brown as the attacker. The night before the assault, the couple had been photographed together at a party for music industry mogul Clive Davis.

According to TMZ, the police report quotes penal code section 245 - assault with a deadly weapon - but there was allegedly no weapon at the scene. The charge may instead be linked to Brown's martial arts knowledge. Rihanna's publicist has not yet confirmed the reports, saying just that Rihanna is "well" and expressing thanks for journalists' concern. Brown has meanwhile hired lawyer Mark Geragos, who defended Michael Jackson in his child molestation trial.
One of Chris Brown's sponsors, Wrigley Gum, has already suspended his Doublemint campaign, saying that they are "concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown". A 2007 interview has also been uncovered, where Brown described to Giant magazine the physical abuse he suffered as a child. "[My stepfather] used to hit my mom," Brown told the magazine. "I remember ... crying and thinking, 'I'm just gonna go crazy on him one day.'"
Brown rose to fame as a sweet-faced, 16-year-old with an engaging voice and amazing dance skills with the 2005 smash hit "Run It!" Since then, his popularity has mushroomed; he's been featured in movies such as dance flick "Stomp the Yard," had top-selling tours and a string of hits, including "Forever" and "No Air" with Jordin Sparks, for which he was nominated for a Grammy on Sunday.
He was named Billboard's top artist for 2008 and won three American Music Awards last fall, including artist of the year.

Rihanna's star is just as bright. The pop singer had one of 2007's most popular songs with "Umbrella" and the string of hits has not stopped: She has a Top 10 Billboard pop hit right now with "Live Your Life" with T.I. and a few others still on the charts.
Her stunning looks have made the Barbados native a cover girl for magazines, as well as a pitchwoman for Cover Girl cosmetics. The pair started dating about a year ago, and while they never officially confirmed their romance, they were often spotted together, cuddling or holding hands.

2. Madonna's ex A Rod admits to steroid use

New York Yankees slugger and Madonna's ex Alex Rodriguez admitted on Monday (February 9) he had tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003.

"I did take a banned substance. For that I'm very sorry and deeply
regretful," Rodriguez told ESPN in response to a report in Sports
Illustrated that he had been one of 104 players who had tested positive that year. He went on to explain his decision to stop using preformance enhancing

"It was at that point when I realized.'What am in doing. Not only
am I going to hurt my baseball career but I'm going to hurt my post career. It was time to grow up. Stop being selfish. Stop being stupid and take control of whatever you're ingesting and for that I couldn't feel more regret and feel more sorry cause I have so much respect for this game. you know and the people that follow us and respect me. I have millions of fans out there that will never look at me the same."

Although there were no penalties for a positive test in 2003,
confidential testing was conducted by Major League Baseball in agreement with the players' union to determine if random testing should be introduced in the following year. Sports Illustrated said the Yankee third baseman had tested positive for a steroid and the male sex hormone testosterone. Rodriguez, 33, baseball's highest paid player and one year into a 10-year $275 million contract with the Yankees, said he had cheated during his three seasons with the Texas Rangers starting in 2001 but not since.

Results of the confidential testing were obtained by the government in conjunction with the investigation into the San Francisco laboratory BALCO and its alleged link with Barry Bonds, baseball's home run record holder. Rodriguez, the youngest player to hit 500 home runs and who with a total of 553 is on course to overtake Bond's record of 762, said he did not even know the name of the drugs he was taking.

President Obama this evening said the news that New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez used steroids "tarnishes an entire era" of baseball. "It's depressing news on top of what's been a flurry of depressing items when it comes to Major League Baseball," said the president.

This comes on top of news for A Rod that Madonna is now dating young model Jesus Luz. The pop icon, who has played with religious imagery throughout her career, was snapped in New York yesterday on a date with a 22 year-old Brazilian model named - you guessed it - Jesus Luz. And it looks like the romance between the May-December pair is heating up. The lunch date - in Manhattan's Marcelleria Italian steakhouse - follows reports that Luz flew to London to ring in his 22nd birthday with Madonna, 50.

Madonna reportedly met Luz in December at a photo shoot for W magazine, where the two posed in together in a raunchy pictorial. The high profile romance has done wonders for Luz's career, and according to his former agent, Sergio Mattos, he is now requesting well over $100,000 for jobs that used to earn him just $225.

3. Jennifer Aniston would love another "Friends" episode

Jennifer Aniston wants the Friends cast to reunite for a one-off TV special. The 39-year-old - who played Rachel in the hit US sitcom - revisited Friends' coffee shop set, Central Perk, with Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show and said it brought back "amazing feelings".

Jen added: "I would absolutely do the show, like one, it wouldn't hurt..." There have been rumours of a movie version of Friends - which ended in 2004 after 10 years - but Jen ruled that out. Her former co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox have also previously hinted at a reunion.

Life could not be better for Jenn at the minute with the mammoth success of her last film, Marley and Me (nearly $141 million and growing), and now the No.1 movie in the U.S. with He's Just Not That Into You , America is just crazy for anything Jen. Can we say "America's sweetheart" yet or would that be premature?

The star-laden comedy starring Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly and more, made $27.5 million over the weekend, defeating fellow releases, the animated stop-motion 3D film Coraline, superhero-esque Push and the unclamoured-for The Pink Panther 2.

Aniston has also been asked to be a presenter at the Oscars this year. The actress wanted to avoid the prestigious award ceremony as ex-husband, Brad Pitt, and his partner Angelina Jolie will be present at the event.

The 39-year-old actress usually tries her best to stay away from the same events that Pitt and Jolie attend but Aniston is also keen to take up presenting duties as she needs to promote her upcoming romantic comedy 'He's Just Not That Into You'.
A source revealed that John Mayer told Aniston "You've got to go. Why do you hide in this town? You have every reason to be there. By presenting at the Oscars, you'll tell the world: 'I don't care about Brad and Angie. I belong here, too',"

4.Young Irish actress wins Shooting Star Award

Teenage actress Sarah Bolger is officially a 'Shooting Star'. Ms Bolger was one of 10 young actors from across Europe selected by a jury for the Shooting Stars 2009 awards, which are given to talented young newcomers to the film industry.

The 17-year-old picked up her award last night at the Berlin Film Festival. Resplendent in a purple evening gown, Ms Bolger looked every inch the movie starlet and said that it was an honour to receive the award. "The words humbled and honoured don't even begin to cover it," she admitted. "To read the list of nominees and winners of the Shooting Stars Award in the past decade is like reading a Who's Who of A-list stars and I can't believe I am a part of that."

Sarah said that she found out that she was on the list while filming in Poland last year. "But it was only about a month or so ago that I realised I was actually going to Berlin to represent Ireland, which was an incredible honour for me." A native of Dublin, Ms Bolger was thrust into the limelight when she appeared in 'In America' directed by Jim Sheridan and has starred in the blockbuster 'The Spiderwick Chronicles'.
As part of the Berlin International Film Festival, the Shooting Stars award ceremony saw the young star take part in a whirlwind weekend of red carpet events -- a far cry from her beginnings in the Dublin Young People's Theatre School. Her fellow award-winners include German actor David Kross, honoured for his role in the critically acclaimed film 'The Reader' and Carey Mulligan from Britain, a star of the 2005 hit version of 'Pride and Prejudice'.

5.Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson back together yet again? reports that the pair were spotted spending Sunday together at Owen's Malibu home in Los Angeles with Kate's five-year-old son Ryder.

"They're back together," a source told the website.
Kate, 29, and 40-year-old Owen originally began dating in September 2006 after filming comedy You, Me And Dupree, but split in June 2007. Last year, they reunited and were apparently together for several months before parting ways in May."It was a pretty bad break-up," a friend of the actor's told People last year. "Owen said it was a tough one. He definitely doesn't want to dwell on it. He wants to put it behind him."

Kate has recently been seen alongside Anne Hathaway in comedy Bride Wars while Owen had a hit in the US last Christmas with doggie drama Marley And Me.
