Stellar Sale Style

Thursday, 8 January 2009

Today we look at some of the super bargains available in the January sales for both guys & girls. Shops are drastically reducing prices this year so we look at where some of the best buys can be found and what type of reductions we can expect to find.

It's our first fashion item of 2009 and we start as we mean to go on- on a budget!

Brendan Mark Scully- Bargain Hunter!
Brendan Scully has been making dance costumes & dresses for a number of years with his company 'STAR'. Similar to those seen on popular shows 'Strictly Come Dancing' & 'Dancing on Ice'.

In addition to these award winning creations Brendan has made one off red carpet pieces for such well know people as Sinead O Carroll, Andrea Roche & Fionnuala Sherry of ' Secret Garden' fame to name but a few.

More recently Brendan has styled various fashion editorials, music acts, fashion tours and corporate events. Credits range from hand created customised Swarovski crystal suit that launched their first store here in Ireland, Fashion shows for Debenhams, Byoung & Mcelhineys Department store and worked alongside well Irish fashion photographers such as Barry Mc Caul & Lili Forberg.

In addition to this Brendan also keeps up to date with break through new trends, what's hot and not through the day-to-day running of agency Bscene The Agency where he is one of the directors.

Brendan's Bargain Blog:-
As we all know most sales kicked off straight after Stephens Day so we are into the 2nd week of it and there are still some bargains out there but you have to be willing to put the time in searching.
We have gone for strong key basic looks rather then 'trends' so you can get real value for money

Tip 1: Shop alone, friends mean well but they can distract you and have a different view of what suits you. Don't shop on an empty stomach, allow yourself time to try stuff on, don't try and squeeze all into an hour before collecting the kids.

Tip 2: Never buy something just because of the mark down, if it didn't cry out to you at full price then 50 % off hasn't changed what you thought about the item.
This is common in designer pieces. If you are going for a designer lean more towards key pieces such as a stunning basic coat that will see you year after year.

Tip 3:Try stay away from fashion trends, these date quickly and that trend may look ridiculous in a few months time, stick to classic pieces that will continue over and can be used again and again. It's a great chance to stock up of accessories such as bags.

Tip 4: Keep in mind trends that are coming into season, you maybe able to get some pieces and put them together with pieces you already have in your wardrobe and be ahead of the pack

Looking forward:-
