Anne Doyle Profile:
Anne was born in Wexford, the youngest of seven children.
She studied English and History at U.C.D. and then worked in the Department of Foreign of Affairs. She joined RTÉ in 1978 as a Newsreader aged 26 and her career has gone from strength to strength!
Anne has many passions. She likes to travel anywhere she can but especially Italy. She has an interest in animal welfare and is a Patron of the Animal Foundation in Kildare.
She is a big fan of Georgian architecture, by her own admission, she is 'ill informed but dead keen!'Reading is a big hobby and this encompasses many genres, including murder, nature and diaries. Believe it or not she likes sport (a self confessed armchair supporter),
Anne also loves food, it also helps that she lives with a chef!!
She is also involved with AWARE, the organization with depression.
She has long been associated with the RTÉ Telethon.
She loves theatre and showbiz. She had a great rapport with Dustin The Turkey while making her acceptance speech at this year's Walkers Sensations TV Now Awards for Favourite News Presenter. She is adored by the Ballydung Boys Podge and Rodge, who regularly mention her!
Anne is currently RTÉ Newsreader for the Nine o'clock news evening programme
