Trying to lose weight for the summer?  Lovely alternatives to gut busting beer!

Martin has passed the notoriously difficult Master of Wine exam in 1994 and became the first Master of Wine to work in Ireland the following year. There are still only three in the Republic of Ireland.
There are only 265 masters of wine in the world in 22 countries!

Wine 1:

NAME: Weight Watchers Fruity White
PRODUCER: Reh Kendermann
VINTAGE: 2006 - Alcohol by Volume: 9.0%
Calories: estimate 75 cals
COUNTRY REGION: Rhein-Mosel, Germany
GRAPE VARIETY: Not specified but believed to be Riesling and Rivaner

TASTING NOTES to include appearance, smell, taste,
Pale Straw colour with aromatic fruity nose and palate showing lemon honey and pear flavours.  It is fairly smooth and medium dry.

1 Weight Watchers Pure Point per 125 ml glass compared with 1.5 points for other wines.

It's quite light so best with lighter shelfish or chicken ut particularly spicy ones such as stir fries. stir fried beef.

Early Harvest Shiraz
PRODUCER: Lindemans
Vintage: 2007
Alcohol by Volume: 9%
Calories: estimate 63 cals

TASTING NOTES to include appearance, smell, taste,
Purplish colour. Aromas and flavours are dominated by blackberry and plum with soft tannins and medium length.

FOOD TO COMPLIMENT: Pizza, pasta, burgers and stir fries.

BUY IT: Just launched in Tesco but soon to be widespread.

Wine 3:

NAME: Lacento Pinot Grigio
Alcohol by Volume: 10.0%
Calorie: 70 cals assuming it is dry

Pale watery straw colour with lightly nutty and aniseed charters on the nose and palate is lighty fruit crisp and dry.

FOOD TO COMPLIMENT: Samosas and chicken tikka but also cheese and bread

Ultra Brut NV Champagne
PRODUCER: Laurent Perrier
VINTAGE: Non Vintage
COUNTRY REGION: Champagne, France
Alcohol by Volume: 12.0%
Calories: 65 cals per glass
GRAPE VARIETY: Chardonnay 55%, Pinot Noir 45%

TASTING NOTES: Pale colour with small bubbles. Aromas are of citrus and peach with a little digestive biscuit with the palate is elegant and never heavy with light fruit flavours, excellent length and a crisp but not austere finish. 12% abv.

FOOD TO COMPLIMENT:Light foods like salads, fish or shellfish or as an aperitif.
