Our Man Friday is actor, Bryan Murray.
He will be starring in Love Letters as Andrew Makepeace Ladd, at The Civic Theatre from Monday 18th to Sat 23rd February.

He will be appearing in Terrence Rattigan's Deep Blue Sea, at the Gate Theatre in April.

He is also on our screens as Bob Charles, in Fair City.

Bryan Profile:
Bryan was born in 1949 in Dublin.  He trained as an actor at the Abbey and ended up spending 7 years with the company.  Bryan always wanted to be either an actor or a rock star - he just yearned to perform and entertain audiences.

In 1979, he played the role of Fitz in RTE's Strumpet City.  He was only 28 at the time and was in awe of some of his colleagues who included luminaries such as Peter Ustinov as King Edward VII, David Kelly as Rashers, Peter O'Toole as Larkin and Cyril Cusack as Father Giffley.
It was Cyril Cusack who took a shine to him and encouraged him to seek work in the UK.

Another TV break followed in 1982 when he starred opposite Peter Bowles in The Irish RM as Flurry Knox. (This was a Channel 4/ UTV co-production)

One of his most memorable roles was as the wife-beater, rapist and child abuser, Trevor Jordache in Brookside.  He was only in 15 episodes of the show yet even still his character is remembered as one of soaps all time evil villains.  Bryan got this role whilst on a visit to the set and sharing a cup of tea with the producer who said he would be ideal for it.

Bryan also had success as Shifty Boswell in the Carla Lane Comedy, 'Bread'.  In fact, in its heyday this show was getting audiences of 20 million people and Byran was voted the BBC personality of the year, an award he still has on his wall!
Bryan has also starred in The Bill, Holby City, Perfect Scoundrels, Casualty and Proof in which he played a crooked Taoiseach.

Bryan is married with five children Laura (25), Henry (16), Florence (14), Gracie (10) and Eva (8). He actually resides in London but is currently back and forth between Dublin and London.
