Bella Italia Resort
The perfect family holiday is Bella Italia on Lake Garda.
This is a holiday development that includes mobile homes, bungalows and a 4 star hotel. So family can take a mobile or a bungalow and if the grand parents wanted to go along they could stay in luxury in the hotel. There are all the usual campsite facilities - swimming pools, tennis courts, shops and restaurants. In addition there are loads of good value attractions including a Disney- type theme park called "Garda Land" with heart stopping rides and another theme park by the name "Aqua Paradise".  Many of the most beautiful places in Italy are within tripping distance including Florence, Venice and Verona. A trip to the opera is a must - even sitting in the cheap seats! I've done it!

Price (flights , transfers ,accomadation  - Dublin ,Cork Belfast  ) starts from €439 pp to €639pp  in high season  for a mobile home. / 01.2401700

Crete is perfect for a family holiday with small safe beaches and water parks. Lots to see and do. Steeped in Greek history, the birthplace of Zeus, Venetian fishing ports, sophisticated seaside resorts yet the interior is unbelievably unspoilt. One of the most adventurous things I've ever done was Walking Down The Samarian Gorge - an unbelievably steep walk almost vertical over 6 hours from the top of a mountain to the seThe Marni Village Apartments, Koutalafari (50 minutes from overlooking Hersonnisos - 60 minutes from airport) are self catering apartments and they also have villas with their own pools for families to rent.

(A children's club is available on request 1800 -2100 each night to allow parents dine alone)
The village of Koutalafari is just 100m away and has some nice quaint tavernas etc.
Price includes flights, accommodation as stated, transfers and all taxes and charges.

For the More Adventurous
Most young and adventurous people have done Thailand, they're now moving on to its neighbours Vietnam, Laos and particularly Cambodia.  Cambodia is a spectacularly beautiful country with an extraordinary history and magnificent sights including the town of temples Angkor Wot.

Even though it's practically on the other side of the world, it's not too expensive to get to -lowest fare €760 euro return - to €1055 flying Dublin /Amsterdam /Bangkok onwards to Phnom Pen /Siam Reap. Accommodation is not expensive  - 3 and a half star hotels from €44 per room ,4 star €90 per room .
(N.B ***Need to get injections - tropical medicine bureau )

Trailfinders are incredibly helpful but don't actually do packages to get there. They will book flights and hotels for you and do internal packages  -visits to temples, capital Phnom Penh, seaside resorts etc.

For stressed out executives and their families and/or friends .Boats can sleep up to ten people. This is brilliant for winding down as the quickest you can travel is about 8 miles per day One week holidays on the Canal du Midi (one way) is one of the most popular for groups of 2-5 people. Prices range from €1885 for 1 week on a Commodore 1230 (4 berth). You can fly to Carcassonne or Toulouse. Flights separate

Cruising off from the base at Homps in Toulouse, this 81km journey is the classic Canal du Midi sunshine cruise. Visit the lovely towns of Castelnaudary and the medieval beauty of Carcassonne and Trebes and experience all the vineyards, castles and charming medieval village life. Sample the local traditional cuisine of Saucisson, Confit de Canard and the mouthwatering locally produced Fois Gras washed down with wines from local vineyards. The fun part of traveling from the Toulouse base of Homps is that you can experience two distinctive types of holiday - one on the Canal itself where you can laze on board, stop over at whichever village takes your fancy or head down to the stunning beaches of the Mediterranean.

At many of the villages and waterside bars you can eat out for less than €10 while enjoying little humpbacked stone bridges, distinctive oval locks and quaint local markets.   You can visit the chateaus dotted along the Canal and it's all very sociable.  Everyone is friendly en route and it does not take long to become part of the boating entourage.  (also do cruising around Venice and the islands)
