OLIVIA O'LEARY - PARTY ANIMAL

Olivia O'Leary is on the couch today to talk about her new book Party Animal's. Olivia has been a familiar face on our screens and voice on our radio for over thirty years.

About Olivia
. Olivia was educated at St Leo's College, Carlow, and University College Dublin, and trained as a journalist with the Nationalist and Leinster Times in Carlow.
. Her career as a current-affairs presenter began in 1972 with RTE.
. In the late seventies and early eighties, she moved back to print journalism and was parliamentary sketch writer with The Irish Times.
. The eighties also saw her presenting RTE's 'Today Tonight' and 'Questions and Answers,' and becoming the BBC's first woman presenter of 'Newsnight.'
. She also presented Yorkshire Television's documentary programme, 'First Tuesday.'
. In 1986 Olivia O'Leary returned to RTE as a regular interviewer and presenter on leading current-affairs programmes like 'Today Tonight' and its successor 'Prime Time.' 
. She continued to further her newspaper links with the Sunday Tribune in 1994.
. She has won three Jacob's TV Awards and her BBC Radio 4 programme 'Between Ourselves' won a Sony Award.
. Olivia O'Leary was back on our screens in 'Later with O'Leary,' a late-night talk show on RTE.
. During 2002 she continued to interview individuals who have made their mark on Irish society in 'In My Life,' and her political musings regularly came to us from 'Five Seven Live' on RTE radio.
. She has also, along with co-author Dr Helen Burke, written the authorised biography of former President Mary Robinson.
