Gerard Mullen is qualified with a BA Degree in Design and BSc Degree in Horticulture and worked as a design manager in IT business for many years before deciding to combine his creative design experience with a lifetime passion for plants.
Gerard has won several awards including two Gold medals for his show gardens at Bloom in 2007 and 2008.
He has spent time lecturing in design at the Waterford Institute of Technology and Kildalton College. Currently, along with continuing his own design practice, Gerard now co-ordinates The Grow Project, a horticultural training programme, in Waterford. This programme is focused on up skilling students in horticulture from plant science to garden design and landscape construction.
Gerard's experience with novices makes him the perfect mentor for our Kildare based designer Amelia Raben who has had no formal training in Garden Design.
Shane and Claire have just bought the house and currently use their garden to dry clothes and as a storage place for disused house fittings.
