The Finale

RTÉ One, Tuesday, 7.00pm

The gardens are completed. The judges have met all five designers in their gardens. The pressure is now firmly on the shoulders of the three judges: Tim Austen, professional garden designer & Bloom Gold Medal Winner, Paddy Gleeson, horticultural expert and the head judge, Gary Graham, Project Manager of Bloom. Having seen all five gardens they must now decide on a winner.

The judges and the designers will meet for the finale in the beautiful setting of Powerscourt House & Gardens in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow. Here the judges will spend the day deliberating on each garden and at the end, choose a winner. The judges will then join the designers and garden owners and their families in the magnificent 18th century ballroom and a winner will be announced.

Super Garden Mentor Mary Reynolds is also on hand to offer her protégés a few final words of advice to these five amateurs, each hoping to make their mark in the world of garden design. Mary has offered these five designers support throughout the Super Garden process and now her work is done. One amateur designer's world is about to change, but only the judges know which one. The decision will be made according to standard guidelines: Filling the Brief, Impact and Originality, Quality of Finish and Planting.

Who will win Super Garden and be crowned top amateur garden designer 2011 and go on to recreate their winning design in Bloom 2011? Five Garden Designers each had five weeks to design and build a winning garden with €6,000. Who will win?

Will it be Meath landscaper Kevin McCormack, with his edgy "contemporary woodland" garden in Palmerstown? Or will it be teacher, Padraigín O'Donoghue from Cork with her tranquil retreat featuring unique craftwork in Ballincollig? Or maybe it will be Dublin designer Paul Gallaher who created a simple, stylish family garden with a bold colour scheme in Kilmore? Perhaps Mary Kiely from Cork, a horticulturist who created a plant-filled secluded artist's haven in Castleconnell? Or will it be Ken Byrne, from Dublin who created a fun social space in Dundalk using recycled materials?
