Rosie Howick

Hi, I'm Rosie Howick. I live in Belgooly in Cork. I am a 30 year old Gemini and I have an amazing 14 year old son. I'm a care worker with the Irish Wheelchair association and I adore my job. I love working with people with disabilities we have such a laugh together; there isn't a single day where I don't want to go to work. I am also an animal lover and try to do what I can to help in animal rescue and for needed change for animal rights in this country. I also perform as a Kylie impersonator from time to time in the gay clubs. That is one thing I am really proud of about myself as I took an idea and made it a reality. To be up in front of an audience is my true love and to be able to do that as Rosie is going to be my ultimate goal.

My boyfriends name is Jim which makes us Rosie and Jim (ha ha). He is my rock and I love him with all my heart and soul, the day we met was the day my world turned around. Dale, my son, is a gorgeous confident young teenager who loves hanging out with his mates, sports and of course playing his console. They are both soooo proud of what I am going through with You're a Star and I hope the most important lesson I can teach Dale from this journey is that life is there for taking risks and having faith in yourself to make goals and chase your dreams.

The whole experience or You're a Star has been a rollercoaster ride, the biggest and scariest, but best one in the theme park! From the moment I auditioned, and going through the boot camp process has been without fail the best decision I have ever made. The best part to date has to be bootcamp. Having all your power taken from you and being totally in someone else's hands is the strangest feeling but such a rush. I loved not knowing where we were going or what we were doing from one minute to the next. The first night I had to sing for my spot in Russborough House was amazing. To be privileged enough to sing in those surroundings was a moment that will forever stay in my mind.

To have Keith Duffy as my mentor was an exciting experience because he is such a success in whatever he has turned his hand at in the business and gave us fantastic advise and direction. I'm glad in a way that I didn't get Brendan because of the obvious, he is sooooo honest but in another way honesty is the best policy, I guess ill get to know in the live show how he feels about my performance.

I hope that you like what you see on the shows and if you like me I promise you I won't let you down if you take the time and effort to vote. I can guarantee that I will give my all every week. I want to make this opportunity into a success and show Ireland how serious I am about being a successful Irish entertainer. Thank you for taking the time to read about me. Enjoy the show.
