I fell in love with music when I was 6. My parents bought a piano that belonged in the living room and since it was there I tried to play every day. I played and sung songs that I heard on the TV or radio. When I was 10 my parents decided to send me to the music school where I learnt to play the piano. My favourite subject was music theory because it explained everything that I knew about music in "scientific" way. I was a student in the primary school at the same time so my days were pretty busy because after primary school I had lessons in the music school. My parents were involved in music when they were studying so there was a guitar in our house as well. I've started to play it when I was 13. I remember my first song was "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica. It will be always my beloved guitar ballad.
When I was about 20, a few people, who were professional musicians, asked me if I wanted to pop in to a rehearsal some time. I did and sung Rosanna by TOTO for them. They liked it and I became the lead singer in their group, "Same Nazwiska" (English: Names Only) we performed around Poland and abroad. At the same time I was studying Civil Engineering which at the time was very annoying for me because I didn't want to do it at all but, however, I'm happy now that I finished university and I think my parents are quite happy as well! In the mean time I was performing in the various pubs and clubs - solo or with two of my friends. It was more like an unplugged set up which I think gave me a lot because it is way more difficult to play things unplugged, and jazzier than rock with high gain guitars and drums. When I was about 22 I qualified together with my good friend Izabela Sierotko for the TV show, "Droga do Gwiazd" (English: Way to become a Star). We loved our trip to Krakow. It was truly amazing experience and our first time on television.
Then I was on a TV with "Same Nazwiska" and at the same time we were trying to get a record deal with Warner Music but our problem was writing lyrics. Ironically, I'm not good at writing lyrics in Polish; it has always been easier for me to be creative in English. That is why I came to Ireland. Unfortunately on our way back home from concerts in Sweden we had a terrible car accident and our friend Jarek Fiebrich left us forever. He was an amazing man. He helped me and many more people to get more involved with music and showed me that there is more than only heavy metal music in this world. I didn't feel right to continue working with "Same Nazwiska" so I decided to put another band together. Shortly after we got invited to play at one of the biggest rock festivals in Poland.
Eventually I decided to go traveling. My friend was leaving Ireland shortly so he gave me his place to stay in Tullamore. September 2005, oh yes I remember then I've tasted beauty of this Country for the first time - Pint of Guinness. After 4 months in Tullamore I moved to the beautiful Village of Banagher. That was my first job as an engineer. I played a few times in the local pubs there and people liked it a lot. The small community of Banagher is like a big family, they are lovely people. After 9 months I moved to Naas, where I live now. I love this town. There is something special about this place but it is hard to explain what it is exactly but it keeps me here so far.
A few months ago I drove down to Galway for a You're a Star auditions and guess what, I qualified for the bootcamp and guess what - I survived bootcamp as well. That was thrilling experience. Stress , stress, stress, stress, stress but relief at the end. I want to thank judges for a second chance that they gave me, after I've made a wrong choice on the song on the third day of the bootcamp. I hope you'll like me as a person because this is really important and I will try to deliver the best performances for you all. I'm always trying to put as much emotion as I can while I'm performing. Music is my only love and my whole life. See you all in The Helix:
