Hey guys! My name is Leanne Moore, I'm 23 years old and I'm from Limerick - born and reared!
I auditioned for You're A Star because this year has been the first year I would have been able to give it my all. Up to now I was in college and also working, so most days my time was limited. Now I have my degree in my back pocket like a sort of safety net! I began doing stage shows again last year for the first time in seven years and things have just rolled out from there! For me there is no better feeling than being in front of an audience and giving it your best. This year I can do that. It's 100% all the way!
Boot camp was the best and worst week of my life - if that's possible!?!? I loved every minute of it but my emotions were all over the place!!!!! It was very tough and I knew I had to give it my best all day every day. But that's what entertainments about! You get up and do it no matter what! Then when you have you feel electric! I was buzzing at the end of every day! I will say one thing though... To the crew.. Foghorns at 7am were NOT nice!!!!!!!! The sound still rings in my ears...!
I've always loved performing and one of my earliest memories is when I was six, and I remember being on stage in a pub in Kilaloe, Co. Clare with my mother, Chris, singing her song! I didn't want to come down!!!!! But I only knew that song so I kept bugging her to sing it again! It was my first taste of the stage and performing. That was it... I was bitten by the bug!
Music is such a big part of my life that I can't really say I have any songs or artists! I listen to a lot of things, if I like a song I like it! Simple as that! However, I do LOVE Eva Cassidy. I love the way she makes songs her own. But in general I listen to anything that gets me singing along - from musicals to rock! Oh and of course being a child of the eighties means that I love all those 80's classics!
I want singing and performing to always be a part of my life. I sing when I'm happy and content. It's a feel good thing! I'm sure I drive my roommate up the walls humming around the place morning, noon and night! Funnily enough I don't sing in the shower!!!!!!!
I'm too sensible for my own good sometimes and so I do have a "Plan B"! This is to become a teacher. I studied English and Religion in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick for four years so I'm nearly there! Teaching however, comes second to singing. Music is rooted firmly in my heart.
Finally I want to thank all of those who have given me the support I needed to make it here. It's a dream to me and I'm still waiting for it to sink in! Please vote for me I don't want to wake up just yet!!!!!
